About Me

Adewale Bakare, MD is a neurosurgeon at Rush. He earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a residency in neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in spinal neurosurgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University Physicians.

 

Bakare specializes in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. He treats the full spectrum of spinal disorders, including degenerative spine disease; cervical, thoracic, and lumbar stenosis; herniated discs; spinal deformity, including scoliosis and lumbar flat back; spine tumors; infections; and revision spine surgery. He is an expert in both traditional open surgery and the latest minimally invasive procedures, allowing him to tailor treatment plans to each patient's unique condition, goals and lifestyle.

 

Bakare makes patients feel at ease by thoroughly explaining their conditions and treatment plans, making them valued partners in their own care. He is committed to helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain and return to the activities that matter most to them through personalized, evidence-based care and advanced surgical techniques.

 

Originally from Nigeria, Bakare has spent nearly two decades in the United States pursuing excellence in medicine and spine surgery. He is an avid soccer fan who also enjoys basketball and football. As a devoted father of three, he values family time and enjoys traveling.
