About Me

Kevin Buell, MD, is a pulmonary and critical care physician at Rush. Buell earned his medical degree from Imperial College London School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Chicago Medical Center. 

Board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease, Buell treats a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis. He also cares for patients in the intensive care unit. In addition to his clinical work, Buell is a research educator with interests in infection, airway management, ultrasound and invasive mechanical ventilation. 

Buell takes a holistic approach to care, delivering the latest medical treatment, tailored to each patient. He is fluent in both English and French and understands basic Spanish. 

In his free time, he enjoys spending time on the lakefront and biking through Chicago’s neighborhoods.
