As a primary care provider at Rush, I focus on preventative health care and women’s health. I also help people with controlling their hypertension, helping to control their diabetes, hyperlipidemia, a variety of thyroid-related disorders.
Being at a large institution allows us to be able to access multiple specialists and bring them in as part of the care team, so that patients can get the appropriate care that they need.
I will generally see a person and then they will refer their family members to me. So I end up seeing generations — the grandparents, and their children and grandchildren. It gives me the chance to get to know each family member as an individual, and how they work together and help each other out as far as their health care is concerned.
