Even if it’s a five-year-old or a two-year-old, I’ll walk in and try to shake their hand or give them high five. And I try to address them first, and then I’ll shake the parent’s hand as well. I’m not only talking to the mother or father but I’m also talking to the patient, and I try to include them in the appointment. Then when I come in, I’m very focused on them, and I give them my full attention. And I answer all of their questions while they’re there.
