'American Sniper' Hits (the Road) Home'“The film was a moving and accurate portrayal of the impact combat has on our soldiers and, especially, their families,” said Mark Pollack MD, chairman of Rush's Department of Psychiatry.
It’s exciting to be a part of the healing process. I think, probably one of the most central gifts of being a doctor is that you have the knowledge and the tools by which to take a person who is ill, a person who is suffering, and make them better.
Being a practicing physician, taking care of patients, I have been the primary beneficiary of the knowledge that is accumulated by all of the specialist physicians here at Rush. And that has helped me be a better doctor. It has helped me gain a more sophisticated knowledge of the diseases that I see in my office. And ultimately it has helped my patients, both from my ability to diagnose illnesses but also in their ability or their treatment by the specialists here at Rush.
