My field has evolved tremendously, from just routine plain films — where you just got plain films of the skull — to CT [computed tomography] — where you could actually see brain anatomy — to MRI [magnetic resonance imaging] — where you can now see brain function.
We only perform diagnostic studies, and these are studies that will aid the physician in making a diagnosis in the patient. Even though we do not have direct patient care or patient contact, we do consider every patient that comes into the radiology department as our patient. And the imaging studies that we perform, and we interpret, we consider those as our patients.
