Patients come to see me if they have basically a bleeding problem, a blood clotting problem, or sometimes they have abnormal blood counts.
Treatments are different for the different bleeding problems. So if you have a bleeding disorder, you’re missing a clotting factor. I give you back that clotting factor, and I put you back to even. If you have a blood clotting, or thrombosis problem, you have too much factor. And I give a blood thinner, and it comes back up to even. So that’s the goal of those therapies is just to even out the abnormal problem.
