I work in a section which provides diagnostic information, and the information that we provide helps the physician solve the patient’s problem — at least to some extent.
We use radioactive material, which is injected into the blood of the patient, and with the special cameras that we have in our department, we take pictures of the distribution of this radioactivity in their body.
The pictures that we used to do were very fuzzy. Now with the help of computers, with the help of the sophisticated gamma camera that we use, the pictures are sharper, the details are much more clear. And we are able to tell the difference between various types of changes with confidence and make a better interpretation of the finding that what we see on the scan.
