I see patients with lung problems — so people who are having trouble breathing, have a cough that’s bothersome, have trouble exercising for some reason. I am involved in evaluating those patients and trying to come up with a plan.
There always are new treatments that are coming out. Many of them are designed to make patients’ lives easier. Some of the medications that we use, particularly the inhaled medications, can be taken once a day as opposed to two or three times a day.
Our main mission is to try to make patients feel better, so let them live their lives more fully. So we’re trying to help them be able to walk further or be able to exercise more so that they can engage more with their families and their friends and keep active with their hobbies or work.
