The most important thing in treating genetic disorder is early diagnosis. That is the key to provide optimal treatment. If you catch the patient before they have symptoms, you may be able to prevent the occurrence of any symptom at all. And that is why, not only we treat a patient, we treat the whole family and evaluate every family member — see if they have the same disorder but have no symptoms. If we can do that, we can provide better outcomes and possibly prevent any clinical problems.
