Pediatricians are a lot like parents. And I tell parents that up front. We’re interested in your child’s health and well-being — their physical health, their mental health, and in your growth and happiness as a family. In our office we’re happy to essentially see you and talk to you as often as you feel the need. And we certainly see new parents and new families at a greater frequency than we see what we would call experienced parents.
I know as a parent myself, I’ve gone through many, if not most, stages of parenting that my patients’ families are going through. And I can relate to the experiences and the feelings that they have about, “Oh. This is new. How do I make the best choice for my child?”
