I have special training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and specializing in disorders of the pancreas and the bile duct.
One of the things I have enjoyed most about being a gastroenterologist is doing a procedure where there’s a direct goal in mind and then achieving that goal, so the patient immediately feels better or the blood tests immediately improve. For example, often times patients will have stones in their bile duct, causing them pain. And immediately after we remove the stone from the bile duct, the patient’s pain goes away. So just having a very direct, one-to-one, reaffirmation that what I’ve done has helped the patient is always a really enjoyable moment.
