I see patients who come to us with a history of complicated pregnancy or expected complications during this pregnancy. They generally have medical conditions, or a history of infertility, or some problems with the baby.
I’ve found it more interesting and rewarding in taking care of those women who historically may not have believed that they could get pregnant — especially women with diabetes, and seizures, disorders. And to me that’s such a crime, that in our day and age, that these women don’t have the right information to know that with a little help and a little caring that they should be able to have normal pregnancies.
I’ve taken care of women who have lost seven pregnancies and then on the eighth one, we were able to successfully provide enough help to get them through it. So experiences like that just make you want to come back for more.
