We spend a lot of time with the parents going over the procedures, talking about alternative treatments, postoperative management for these kids, and what to expect after surgery for these kids.
We’re the last of the true general surgeons. So we’ll operate on the chest, in the abdomen, on the extremities, blood vessels — so we do everything.
I’m lucky enough that I’m doing exactly what I want. I have a great time with the kids. I get to play with all the new toys. I know all the new cartoons. I keep up with all that stuff. So it’s actually a lot of fun.
