The most prevalent reason a patient would come to see a urologist is they’re getting up at night more frequently than they used to. Their urine stream is low. Alternatively the next most common is change in erections.
It’s not infrequent men will never see a physician in their lifetime and suddenly at the age of 50, 52, 53, a switch turns on — and it’s important for men to realize prevention is going to be the ideal strategy for us to promote a healthy lifestyle. What we do know is that the presence of loss of erections can be the first harbinger of not-yet-evident heart disease.
Video is a great way to educate patients about overall disorders. We use video links to educate them, graphics to educate them. So, I’m able to show them exactly what’s happening in the prostate, what’s happening with respect to erections, what’s happening with incontinence issues. We’re able to show them and patients are very happy that they’re able to visualize exactly what you’re telling them.
