• My overarching philosophy is just to listen to my patients and to remember what it feels like to be a patient. I take pride in laying out the whole treatment plan with them. I’m always drawing pictures for them. Even if I meet them in the hospital room, I’ll draw a picture of their operation on their bed sheets — which I’m sure housekeeping gets a little annoyed with me for. But I always make sure that they have a full understanding of what the plan is going to be, so that if anything happens along the road we’re prepared for it. We know what our plan was going in. And I let them know several hopeful outcomes. And if something happens, we’re ready to take care of it.
