In the newborn period, clearly most of your conversation is happening with the parent, but you’re engaging that newborn even from the very first visit. And you’re trying to establish that relationship with the child from that very first visit. And when you see that child come back to you again and again, through the first year and the second year, and how they go through a phase of being a little bit wary of you and then they come to this phase of knowing who you are and being happy to be there and see you, it is the most incredible feeling. It’s so fantastic to follow these kids from the moment they’re born, as they’re growing up through toddlerhood and school age. And the things that they have to tell you when they’re in first grade and they’re doing homework for the first time. Or maybe they joined a team or maybe — it could be a number of things that they’re really excited about. And it’s fun when you realize they’re excited to tell that to you because you’ve made that relationship with the child.
