View Transcript When a patient shows up in our thoracic surgery office at University Thoracic Surgeons, they’re often facing the most difficult health issue of their life. I think the thing that we’re blessed with is a team of committed individuals that recognize that and handle the patients with a great deal of empathy and care. And what we’re able to demonstrate to them is that they found in us a partner in fighting this.
Lung cancer was really thought to — and still does in some cases — carry a very grave prognosis. That said, if it’s caught early enough — which we’re doing much more these days — operating — often with minimally invasive techniques — allows the patients to begin with a very frightening diagnosis and come out at the other end cured.
