When an individual has cancer, what they want is the best treatment with the fewest side effects that they can receive. This is a very hard time in peoples’ lives. They are faced with life/death issues. And part of my job is to make sure that they’re comfortable in whatever treatment approach they choose.
One part of radiation therapy that I love is that we really do help people. We’re either curing them or making them feel better. And it’s very gratifying to see somebody come at three, four, five years after their treatment doing really well.
