View Transcript Every time I wake up in the morning, I look forward to come to the hospital to work because I know that that day I will make the difference in somebody’s life. Most of our patients, when they come to us, they have a lot of symptoms. If it’s children, they can’t exercise. They can’t do anything. And if you do something for their heart and you make it better, these children grow, and then when they come back for follow-up, they’re jumping and laughing. And you become really a good friend, not just to the child, but also to the family of these children. And you become a member of their family.
In adult patients with valve disease, an eighty, eighty-five-year-old patient, they are limited. They can’t exercise. You insert a new valve, or you repair a leaky valve in them. They come back after a month or six months with a big smile on their face, their symptoms are gone, and they are doing much better. So the innovations and the technology that we have, that’s what led to the help of these patients. So I always look forward to what’s the new technology out there — devices, valves — to bring so that we can benefit all our patients.
