Internal medicine, it’s such a broad field. You tend to see new things everyday just because disease processes can be so varied and present in such different ways and people can have multiple issues. So I do learn many things everyday, just based on the fact that I am a generalist and work with adults.
I also have the opportunity as an academic physician to educate. I have internal medicine residents that work with me. So not only do I have the opportunity to learn, but I’m also educating. And I’m also learning from these young doctors. So it’s quite a unique opportunity as an academic physician.
