I’m privileged to not only treat patients who have craniofacial deformities, but the more traditional orthodontic patient as well — who just have a few crooked teeth that they want to see improved.
One of our goals in treatment of craniofacial patients is to prepare them for whatever surgical intervention they’re going to have, which may be with a plastic surgeon or with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. What we do as the orthodontist is we prepare them — get their teeth in a proper position so that the surgeon can do their job.
Growing up in a household where my father was an orthodontist, I was able to see the transformation and changes that he made in people’s lives. And I knew that I wanted to do that as well.
