I take care of children with a wide variety of kidney disorders—whether that be children that have chronic kidney disease, need kidney dialysis, need a kidney transplant, or it can be non-life-threatening conditions, such as kidney stones or urinary tract infections.
I think it’s important to incorporate the patient, as well as their family. And we take that approach here by using a multidisciplinary team. We have nurse educators. We have dieticians. We have social workers—so, really a nice comprehensive team that can help the family cope with chronic medical concerns.
