I was an athlete in high school and college and had my fair share of minor injuries, and then had kind of a major setback that required surgery. And I missed six weeks of a state-championship-winning season. And it kind of helped me to understand the psyche of an injured athlete.
We have access to a lot of resources. We have a gait analysis lab, which uses high- tech video technology to really break down — whether it’s the walking phase or the throwing cycle of a baseball pitcher or thrower — or running analysis.
Probably the most satisfying is when an athlete comes in — or somebody who was previously active and then they’ve had an injury — and then seeing them six, eight weeks into their treatment and seeing the satisfaction on their face as they start to progress back to that activity they wanted to get back to — and just seeing the gratitude that they have for being able to get back to something they love.
