People are afraid of having surgery done. They’re afraid of a slow recovery. They’re afraid of being dependent upon others. They’re afraid of pain. We’ve developed outpatient hip and knee replacement that we do minimally invasive. That is to say that we don’t cut the muscles, ligaments, and tendons, which is routinely done in traditional surgery. That allows our patients to have the surgery with much less pain — and in fact — almost pain free, so much so that they’re able to leave the hospital —actually go home — the day of surgery.
It’s a great honor to be able to help patients recover more rapidly with this outpatient hip and knee replacement we do without cutting the muscles, ligaments, and tendons. [It] allows our patients to get back to their lives, to get back to doing things that they maybe haven’t done in years or maybe even decades and do that painlessly.
